Stewart Falls

so i had a fever one morning and the only thing that could cure it was the mountains. so we did stewart falls in a two hour break that we had. ran up, played and ran back. just can't get enough of those mountains. here we are attacking the water fall. the picture made us look more like zombies.
just a good picture
here tyler is. it is nice that he is willing to be the guinea pig and test all the climbs for before i risk my life.

just some running shots of some woods thought the woods.

well tyler got home and no one updates or send around the weekly letter anymore but for what it is worth here is some what of an update. sent in the pod school applications a few weeks ago. school is crazy but i don't have class on thursday and saturday so i can slack off really good on those days. last week we rolled down a huge hill in a giant inflatable plastic ball, that was really fun. we are officially back to the days of living of peanut butter sandwiches and things of the like. conference was awesome. i don't know if i liked the talks or the orange rolls better. yum yum. that's all for now.

i wanted to stick the picture of tyler's head in the water where we all did our but it is on tyler's phone and he is rocking out to the real dave matthews right now, the real one who is playing right now up in salt lake--what a cool kid. instead i found this wondrous photo of aaron--very nice.

tyler's sunday activity. like sister like brother.
max was pretty excited because grandpa made him strawberry juice.
poser--------------this is him posing for the camera, drinking.
it was a party over here sunday.
ok this one comes from our trip. tyler is officially fired as trip historian. we did the narrows and the sugar loaf and didn't get a single picture of it. we only have stuff from the car and right as we were leaving.

kung fu panda action. looks like a pretty good movie. it got watched 2.3 times i think.
it was fun to talk to grandpa down there

so week in review. probably forgot a bit of stuff but what comes to mind is the trip to st george. we left thurs morning after basketball and racquetball and drove down. missed meadow hot pots - sad day - but went straight to zions narrows. walked all through the water and had an awesome time there. (see http://www.zionnational-park.com/zion-narrows.htm ). then off to st george. mel and mom went to see cats and ty and i stayed home with grandpa and talked for a while - it was a lot of fun - he is a funny guy. then we went off to get a carton of ice cream (double berry cream cheese) and eat it on top of the sugar loaf till we got kicked off by the coppers. went over to tuachan and picked up mom and mel. that night was the largest meteor shower of the year so we went out towards a town called veyo and tried to stay at a pool reservoir thing place that looked way cool but had to much red tap so we stayed at some random coral thing on the side of the road and watched it. it was so awesome. lots of good ones. friday morning we got up and went back to get mom, had a good breakfast and got right back on the road to come home. it was a quick trip but way fun. that night we went up to todd's wedding reception and a good time was had by all there.

saturday was alpine days and we celebrated with racquetball in the morning ( just ty and i, mom and dad went up to the wedding), came home to our very own fireman's breakfast, then went on a good bike ride down the crazy rodeo trail - i almost crashed and i did get covered in stickers, (it has not been a good week for mt biking, i crashed on wednesday and hurt my side pretty good). after mt biking i got the trailer hooked up and went up to sand to pick up the brand new player piano. ( brand new for us, it is actually from 1923 and will need a lot of work before the player mechanism works) that night we went to see the fireworks and they we good as always.

sunday i was just reaffirmed that to have a good class all you need to do is bring a big bowl of candy. one of the classes had it and as you would guess i went straight to that class. starrs came over and we had fun then.

monday i got a lot of stuff done. just little chores that i have been neglecting. had a party with the boys from high school. patrick is off to school in st louise so we sent him off. played a bit on the banjo. this morning (tues) i rolled my ankle and it is pretty big, hopefully will only put me out for a bit. and that about sums it up for the recent past events.

horsetail

it does bother me that i can never figure out how to upload these in the right order. so in the end it is pretty much just random and more backwards than not. so we will start out with the good picture of the horsetail falls event.here is the first try. kind of a miss-fire. whops
melody!!! jarrgh. oh well if the parents want to photo-shop here out it will make a nice picture. nothing against you melo but this is kind of a parents only picture.
here we start with the head dunking. it was quite the rush.

a marvolous reaction.

dosen't it look like so much fun?--ya!

picture of sticking our head in water. so much fun!!

i know, i know you know, i know

Yes these have been long overdue and many have already seen them but here are some of the pictures of the trip to Alaska. It was truly a most awesome experience but also was a lot of driving. Interestingly enough, the way i loaded them is kind of in backwards order so after the first two picts you start at the end of the trip an go to the beginning

this was out on the whale watching tour. it was surprisingly awesome.
this is how we slept for quite a bit of the trip. throw all the stuff in the front seats and lie out in the back of the car. apart from melody, if you can guess what this place is i will give you a prize.
grand tetons
old faithful and my shoe
using my ninja skills to fight off the bad guys at old faithful
cool pot

hot springs. super interesting but i was kind of let down by yellowstone honestly. to me it just does not compare at all to the mountains that we have been seeing and if you know me i am quite partial to the mountains.
but i did really like this picture
glacier national park. this was truly awesome. still snowed in so we did not get to see to much but it was huge.

so much mist. i came back kind of soaked
the perfect picture spot
the only way to get to the perfect picture spot
have to get the right order to eat the fruit snacks. don't want to end on one you don't want.
ok form
form out the window with the heavy rocks
perfect form. every lack or river we passed had a that we skipped in it.

i don't know how or why this happened.
i have a special talent. when there are no lights. i can use my knees as flashlights.

ocure paint fields
how we got everywhere so fast.

good timing with the train
i think this may one of the most picturesque pictures on the whole trip. the lighting, the food, the action, everything
lake louise and a bowl of fruit loops.

a big bus

i have never really seen these guys but they were all around. we saw so much wildlife on the trip. bear (black and grizzly), moose, caribou, elk, deer, porcupine, birds, bald eagles, osprey, fox, coyote, rabbit, etc... the more exotic were the lyxn and the wolf.

i caught a fish with my bare hands. the only fishing we did up there.
thats a good reflection.

totem pole we erected. i hope it is still standing.
gotta put in the gang signs
"world's smallest desert"
a normal morning scene
the north pole

this is when we summited mount indenali.
the floating sign that says the trail is where ever you can find it

these guys were super fun to watch. they played under our boat for about 25 min. then we had to go and look for whales. we saw five or six of them. super neat.
miss melody joined us for a bit
a sea lion chillin in the port
going into alaska.

this place was awesome. a forest of signs for acres. just like this.

chain saw capitol of the world.

this one if for klinton
awesome mountain lake at the end of one of the coolest drives that i have ever done.
these mountains north of whistler were incredible.
big old waterfall. i forgot to smile in this one. i was happy i promise.
super green
Adam Bowen Wood
they build this building specifically for me
the weekly bath

a tumor? guess so.
wapiti falls. rock skipping heaven and a beautiful waterfall with a gorgeous setup for viewing.

that is it for alaska for now. here are some of the adventures to arches and goblin valley.

the firey furnace. this is a must go place to see in arches.
going into a cave at goblin valley
perhaps the coolest place on earth
at arches we were kind of dirty so we went ahead and used pool
dinner preparations.
